The City Council is the quasi-judicial branch of our local government. The City Council is composed of a mayor and 6 councilors. The councilors serve for a term of 4 years, and the mayor serves for a term of 2 years. The Council adopts ordinances, passes resolutions, sets policies, adopts the budget, and conducts public meetings.

The next meeting of the City Council will be a Regular Meeting on September 28, 2017 beginning at 6:30 pm. The meeting will be held at Jefferson City Hall, located at 150 N. 2nd. St. in Jefferson, and is open to the public.
